My biggest pet peeve with finding new actions, which is big enough to make me say whatever and just go back to what I have, is the inability for action authors to give me a solid framework of names and versions in their action sets.  I'm not asking for much here, really.  When you have created over 100 unique actions, it just makes it easier to file them, combine them into one huge folder with your name on it, and GIVE CREDIT.

Nothing frosts my cookies more than downloading a bunch of actions from the same person and every action I load having the name of "action 1," "action 2," "PLAY ME!!1!!," or something else even more generic.  And while the actions are fantastic or else I wouldn't be downloading them, PLEASE take some time to put a version on the individual action along with the initials of the set name or something.  What I do is make a huge folder with your name on it and then insert all the actions I have from you there.  What I end up doing is going through every action folder and individually naming each action myself for instance "action 1" I have to label "author's name - set title/number/version - action 1."  This is so time consuming I give up more like than not and end up not using your resources.

I'm not trying to piss anyone off but I MUST organize my actions or I drown in a sea of them and just end up using the ones I know and love because most times I don't even KNOW THE NAME OF THE AUTHOR.  PLEASE PLEASE if nothing else put your name or some equivalent on the main set folder.  Many times I download and unzip then toss the zipped file and load them days or weeks later thus totally losing your name and rendering those actions useless because I can't credit.

I'm trying my best to get back in the swing of photography, I have all the cameras/lenses/props I could need but what I need at present is a kick-ass laundry list of awesome photoshop actions that will make my life easier.  I have a huge storage of night-fate's actions but I'm looking for newer things to work with that I haven't used 10000 times.  Back in the day, before I discovered night-fate, I used to just tool around in photoshop to see what worked I simply don't have time for that anymore.  Or maybe she spoiled me, or a combo of both.  I certainly don't have the time to sift through 100+ actions and rename each one.  This is just advice, and a small bitching session.  I know without you guys I would have no actions and I'm so-totally-grateful for that.  I just want to be able to enjoy your actions and actually use them being able to credit you great artists.  Throw me some rope I'm drowning here.

Edit to Add: Having a system of naming your sets and actions also helps me see which actions I already have keeping my actions list usable.  I started my labeling system when I realized I had about five of the same set hidden among 100 different sets down the list.  It just makes workflow easier and actions a bit more usable as well.

Hello,

I'm honored that you favorited one of my flower photos awhile back!

I just wanted to let you know that I'm transferring most (if not all) of my photos to a different account of mine. I'm not making the name public, so if you're interested, please let me know, and I'll be glad to tell you the username of my other account. :) (Smile)
Star!NO obligation though; I just wanted to mention it in case.
